Switzerland has been on my bucket list for a while! Somehow it took almost 3 years to get there, even though we're just a 2 hour drive from the border. We visited the beautiful city of Bern. It's a small city with a great view of the mountains. This was Will and I's first experience being in a city with German as the main language. It definitely made it interesting navigating our way around the city and trying to read signs. It was a little chilly, but the beautiful fall colors made up for the temperature. There were dozens of statues like this around the city. The Alps were beautiful from this view. There were lots of stores and restaurants under ground along the main city streets. is a pastor in Switzerland and that church and state are one in the city of Bern. The city pays him to pastor at a church there and Bern is one of the only cities left in Switzerland where church and state are not separated. Here are pictures from the light show the city puts on in the fall. Will and I were enjoying all the signs in German on our trip!
