Venice ItalyVenice Italy was the second stop on our road trip. Everyone isn't lying when they talk about how incredible the canals are running through this old city. It was smaller than I had imagined, but probably seemed this way because I felt like I was in a maze because there are so many different streets and bridges to take that lead you somewhere totally new. We walked 10 miles each day we were there, so it's definitely not a place to go if you're looking for a relaxing trip. However it's an awesome place to visit if you're looking for something totally different than you are used to. The buildings are so old and worn down, in the best way possible. Each street leads you to so many different paths and streets, with new bridges and new buildings to admire and there are no cars, which is super awesome. Will and I really enjoyed seeing all the transportation boats... We saw a police boat, an ambulence boat, a tractor/construction boat, a UPS boat, etc. Of course the Gondola's are the most romantic of all boats in Venice. Will and I were both pretty amazed at the blueish-green color of the water in Italy. Venetian CuisineMost restaurants were serving 2 things: Pizza and Pasta... Will and I are big pizza lovers so we definitely enjoyed all the Italian pizza on our trip. Gelato was also a must for us! Gondola RideWe almost didn't do a gondola ride, because it's pretty expensive... We ended up doing it because we knew this was probably our only time in Venice and we wouldn't get the chance again... I think we would have regretted it if we didn't. It was incredible to ride through streets that were completely silent, aside from the oar hitting the water. It was so peaceful and gave us a different perspective of Venice, than just seeing the canals. Being in them was amazing... A must do if you go. Worth the money! Roof-Top ViewOur AirBNB host told us about this incredible view of Venice... It's at the "Fundaco dei Tedeschi" and absolutely free, but you just have to reserve it online beforehand. A great view overlooking a big part of the city. Everytime I see European rooftops, I imagine Jason Bourne running on top of them... LOL. BoatsHere are some of the working boats I was able to catch a picture of Working boats... BuildingsIf you also have a fascination with old European buildings, check out some of my favorites below... Here's a short 2-minute video of our time in Venice...
